Course Overview
Level 1 requires student to be 18 or older. Firearm must be unloaded and secured (preferably in a safe) during online classroom module.
Registered students will receive an email welcome letter with directions to log in to their live online course.
There is an in-person shooting component to this course that is limited to set states/dates (see dropdown for range dates). Student must bring firearm, 100 rounds ammunition, and eye & ear protection to shooting lesson. Student is responsible for any range fees.
This class does not meet state requirements to apply for a concealed carry license, but is a acceptable prerequisite to meet NRA Pistol Instructor certification requirement to teach concealed carry. Students must be 21 if planning to teach CHCL.
*NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting ILT, Blended Learning, or Distance Learning courses meet prerequisite requirement for NRA Pistol Instructor. The eLearning non-shooting course offered on the NRA site is for knowledge only and is not accepted towards instructor classes. (see the "Instructor Certification" page for more information).

Concealed Carry Concepts (non-nra) - Distance Learning
Course Overview
This online CCW course is for concealed carry knowledge only (non-license class). Students receive a live virtual comprehensive explanation on how to safely handle their firearm and when it can be used for self-defense, choosing a firearm for personal protection, ammunition selection, holstering, situational awareness, cover and concealment, defensive mindset, personal defense strategies, shooting techniques, interstate travel with a firearm, TSA gun regulations, aftermath of a shooting event, and more will be discussed!
8-hour objective based course. Must be 21 or older. Firearm must be unloaded and secured (preferably in a safe) during classroom module.

This is a "Non-NRA" course taught by certified instructors. See "Student Classes" tab for in-person training options.
This course is for knowledge only and may not meet your state CCW license requirements. See your local concealed carry division for requirements and application.

Course Overview
This class is recommended for those who are new to firearms or have limited experience. Extensive training and in-depth safety principles are stressed including safe gun handling, parts and components, operations, ammunition, maintenance, basic stances and shooting techniques. Continued opportunities for skill development is discussed. To meet national standards and receive your official NRA certificate students must complete the online course as well as in-person shooting training.
6+ hour comprehensive course. Must be 16 or older. Firearm must be unloaded and secured (preferably in a safe) during classroom module.
